A few days ago, the Nigerian Army released a statement which was sent to all online publications, titled “AN OPEN LETTER TO NIGERIAN CELEBRITIES”. The letter called for Nigerian celebrities “to abstain from the use and abuse of the Nigerian Military camouflage”.
Jesse Jagz who is known for his love for army fatigues was put on blast in the statement for smoking marijuana while rocking military clothes. Other artistes that were named & shamed for wearing camouflage were Iyanya, Iyanya, Wizkid, Davido, Tekno Miles & even cute little Chidinma.

AN OPEN LETTER TO NIGERIAN CELEBRITIES
This is to inform the general public and most especially Nigerian celebrities to abstain from the use and abuse of the Nigerian Military camouflage.
Several investigations were carried out and we noticed the camouflage is mostly been used by Nigerian celebrities in music videos, photo-shoots and concerts.
In this same videos and photo sessions, Nigerian celebrities like “Jesse Jags” smoke marijuana while putting on the Nigerian Military camouflage. This is a shameful act and it will NOT be tolerated henceforth.
Other Celebrities have also been noticed putting on the camouflage at will. They include Iyanya, Wizkid, Davido, Tekno Miles, Chidinma etc.
The Nigerian Army is now denying issuing that letter.
The Army spokesman, Brigadier General Olajide Laleye, in an interview with Premium Times said no such letter was issued from them, he did however add that wearing army camouflage by civilians is a crime.
