Man, 32, in court for allegedly robbing pastor

A 32-year-old man, Saturday Samuel, who allegedly broke into a church in Lagos and robbed a clergyman of N15,000 was on Tuesday charged before an Ojokoro Senior Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.
Samuel, of no fixed address, is facing a three-count charge of burglary, theft and armed robbery.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Lugard Ahonle, told the court that the accused committed the offences on Jan. 25, at about 12:45 a.m. at No. 10, Akintunde St., Kola in Alagbado, Lagos.

“Samuel, who was armed with a locally made gun, broke into Olutunu Celestial Church, Alagbado, Lagos, and dispossessed a clergyman, Richard Oguntayo of N15,000.
“Luck ran out on the accused when he was apprehended by vigilance men,” Ahonle said.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 285, 304 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty.
The Magistrate, Mr O.A. Layinka, granted the accused bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
