SONY UNVEILS NEW XPERIA SMART PHONE

Sony has expanded its Xperia line with the introduction of not two, but four new smartphones: the Sony Xperia E1, Sony Xperia E1 Dual, Sony Xperia T2 Ultra, and the Sony Xperia T2 Ultra Dual.

The new Xperia phones, both the Xperia E1 and Xperia T2 Ultra, will be available in two variants: single SIM and dual-SIM. No pricing or availability details have been released at this point but many suspect the single and dual-SIM variations will launch for different markets. The Xperia T2 Ultra is a phablet that has be designed specifically for emerging markets such as China, Africa, and the Middle East. Both versions of the T2 Ultra will run Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box and will be nearly identical to each other, minus the SIM card variation. These phablets will have a 6-inch HD TRILUMINOS display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 and a 720x1080 pixel resolution. They will feature a quad-core 1.4GHz Snapdragon processor with 1GB of RAM, as well as 8GB of inbuilt storage which is expandable up to 32GB. Both the T2 Ultras will have a 13 megapixel rear camera with Exmor RS for mobile in addition to aw 1.1 megapixel front-facing camera with an Exmor R sensor.

The Xperia E1 and E1 Dual smartphones will also share the majority of their specifications. Both smartphones will feature a 4-inch WVGA display with a 480x800 pixel display and a 233ppi pixel density. The E1 smartphones will feature a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM210 processor with 512MB of RAM as well as 4GB of inbuilt storage. There is no word on the E1's camera, operating system, or expandable storage at this time. Sony is offering a 30 day free pass for its Entertainment Network music streaming service with the E1 smartphones.
