Milan star Kaka scored his 100th goal for the club in their 3-0 win
over struggling Serie A side Atlanta. The Brazilian scored a brace in
their home win against the Nerazzurri to kick start 2014 positively.
Urby Emanuelson teed up the 32-year-old who slotted the ball into the goalkeepers far left. In the 65th minute, Kaka added his and Milan's second. Following some neat footwork from Mario Balotelli in
the Atlanta area, his low cross was bobbled on by Emanuelson and Kaka reacted the quickest, burying the ball past Andrea Consigli.
Despite the win, Milan have performed well below par this season and are currently placed in 10th place, 27 points behind leaders Juventus. It was only the second win in 10 games for Allegri's side who have seen their title aspirations crumble and must now battle their way into the Champions League places.
The prodigal son made his return to the Rossoneri in the Summer following four years at Real Madrid. In 2009, Kaka completed a £56 million deal to the Spanish giants but struggled with injuries and subsequently failed to replicate the form he showed at Milan.
The result ensures a positive start to the New Year for Milan who confirmed manager Massimo Allegri will leave the San Siro come the end of the season. The 46-year-old Italian guided Milan to their first League title in six years during the 2010-11 season and will part ways with the Italian outfit at the end of the campaign.
